Abroad Collection

This series began with a choice I had never imagined for myself. Studying abroad meant confronting fear and stepping into something larger than I had known. Traveling across twelve countries expanded both my world and my artistic vision, and these paintings grew from that shift.

Rooted in memory, these paintings capture quiet moments that asked me to pause, to notice the shimmer of light through leaves or the intimacy of a window framing the world beyond. I paint from both memory and reference, allowing them to blur as they do in lived experience. Through flowing brushwork and attention to small details, I aim to convey presence as an invitation to slow down. By painting these moments, I offer viewers an entry point into the way I experience the world, where small details expand, time slows, and a fleeting encounter becomes a place to rest, even if just for a moment.
